Hi Folks
Just to include the proper citation for the previous post as any Cybrarian worth their stripes should do. It is as follows:
Londborough University 2009, Who Else writes like...?, viewed 27 February 2012, <www.erl.vic.gov.au/main/who.htm>
Who Else writes like...? is a subscription database designed and made available by Londborough University, Leicesture, UK.
The claim by the publishers of this database is that it is 'a reader's guide to fiction authors'.
The database does deliver in a simple format to fiction readers, the general modus operandi of the listed authors productions, e.g. genre, sub-genre or type of novel, key characters and environments as well as important biographical details of the author.
However perhaps the most significant aspect of the A-Z guide of fiction authors for an avid and thirsty reader is that once they have read all presently available books by a favorite author they can refer to the database to find out who else writes like that author and move on with their leisure reading in a writing style that feeds the reader's enthusiasm.
It is as simle as keying in an author's surname and finding one's requested style of reading entertainment by a similar author, delivered to the fingertips. It could be inexhaustible.
Nearly there Jo - you just need to check the URL as it needs to have vic in it.
ReplyDeleteThanks
This one doesn't work but previous one does. Hooray.
ReplyDeleteI may have put the 'vic' in the wrong spot. Will do it again. This is practice for finding the editing section of blogging.
DeleteExcellent
ReplyDeleteAnd how like you to put a positive spin on this exercise. Well done
